internet scams

well i was recently a victim of fraud. i had been getting so many calls from some weird numbers until i finally answered. i was said to have been approved for a 7000 dollar loan so i was excited about. The person talking sounded indian and so did the rest. sooner or later I was convinced into sending them money through western union. It was all a scam there was never no loan. these stupid indians stole 600 from me and they kept asking for more. I literally wasted everything I had on them. they pretend to work for finance companies, government grant companies, and even debt collectors. screw these stupid indians. I tought they were good people but not anymore.

scam by Jaipur auto driver/driver

Most auto driver are over friendly with tourist (mainly with white women). A driver picks up a women (usually backpacker) from Jaipur train station and takes her to a hotel of his choice, where he gets commission. He would start complimenting, will invite for tea, and introduce to his family. He would slowly gain trust and spending night in hotel. She would expand her staying. She would never finds out that local driver cannot spend night in Jaipur hotel and most driver are married and have children. She would feel real love and warmth by him and family. He hops for long term girl friend, therefore every six months she would visit or send money or even open a shop. He would start saying to other tourist that he has girl friend in France or Germany, therefore he could gain trust with more tourist. A driver some times make two three girlfriends, so he can invite a girl to India in different time of the year. Cleaver right? Do not be surprise to know that their wives know and support

Risikesh gems

There are 3 brothers who have a store in Laxman jhula Rishikesh, in the stairs to tapovan. They ask you to transport lots of gems to the west. first they ask you to bring a lot and you have to pay the insurance, then they go down and they offer to pay insurance so you let down our guard. They say you will get your money back both from them and the "buyer " in your country. When you get home your contact person in india will be "in jail" and out of reach. One of them is Raj or Sonny and has the name of his wife tattooed on his right forearm, his wife's name also starting with S. One of them is married to a japanese woman. They ask you to pay them a deposit, and they will pay you back the moment you get home. Then the deal is broken and they hardly understand english etc.

Hotel Southern in NDL is a scam

We have booked 4 deluxe rooms in Hotel Southern in NDL on Oct26 through AsiaWebDirect.com. When we checked in, they did not keep rooms for us, and no explanation but they sent us to another place claiming there was their another hotel building. Then it turned to be another hotel named Blue Bell, where the rates are lower. They are so greedy that they charged us exceeding the amount dealed with the AsiaDirectWeb. We then rejected the hotel but were left standing outside the hotel in a desperate nightmare and extremely tired as we arrived from Jaipur late that night and did not know where to go.

packing after making a purchase

When you buy any goods, make sure that it is packed in front of you. If you are a tourist, it is possible that they may change the goods to a cheaper inferior quality. The Narulas of New Delhi tried this on me when I purchased a embroided cloth piece from them. Packing is done elsewhere.

Scams and shameful shams

This happened to me ..doing my usual morning walk around the empty Pushkar Lake during the time of the Camel Fair. Some young boy passes me and says "look your behind side" I didn't like the look of him anyway and kept walking but he insisted I had "dirt" on my clothes. Still moving, I checked my behind side and sure enough there was some sticky yukky stuff on my shirt. I covered it with my scarf and kept walking. Of course what I should have done was stop and deal with the stuff on my back giving them a chance to steal my camera! At least these guys used some porridge mix and not cowshit!

Offering to sell you Euro coins.

Twice I had people "asking" me how much a Euro or 2-Euro coin was worth, and expressing willingness to exchange it for less than its market value. Don't bother. They're counterfeit.
