1. Hotel Cottage Yes Please

This hotel with a quirky name is located in a relatively quiet street, just off the Main Bazaar. There's no shortage of marble or courteous staff in the hotel, and the rooms are kept clean and nicely decorated. The hotel also has very similar, but newer, sister hotel called the Cottage Crown Plaza located just around the corner on the Main Bazaar. It's also a very decent place to stay.

2. Hotel Rak International

Hotel Rak International is a cheap but reliable option, with a backpacker buzz. It's clean and tidy with a wide range of rooms, all of which have street views. The biggest and best ones are on the upper floors. It's worth paying the extra as some rooms are a bit worn. Also check out the new Hotel Gush International next door. The Hotel Relax provides a welcome reprieve from the dime-a-dozen budget hotels that populate the Paharganj area. The hotel has large, airy rooms that open onto a wide central foyer on each level. The best thing is the sizable balcony that overlooks the street scene below. It's a wonderful place to relax and unwind!

4. Hotel Legend International

The inside of the Hotel Legend is much more impressive than the outside. The hotel is located just off the Main Bazaar and is noticeably more upmarket than most Paharganj hotels. Guests can look forward to a high standard of customer service, as well as large, clean rooms with spacious floor plans and comfortable beds. The hotel is also suitable for business travelers.

For those who like being amongst the action, the Shelton Hotel has a great location right in the middle of the Main Bazaar. The best rooms have balconies overlooking the street, and it makes for fascinating viewing. The hotel also has an excellent roof top restaurant called the Kitchen Cafe, which serves yummy western breakfasts (although you have to wait a while the food to come!). If you feel like a beer, the staff will bring it to your room. The attractively painted rooms are clean, but hot water can be variable.
