Guide Review - Hotel Lindsay Review : Unbeatable Location in the Heart of Kolkata

The Hotel Lindsay first opened in 1976 as a small guesthouse with 14 rooms. Since then it has continuously upgraded its facilities to grow into a fully fledged hotel with over 60 rooms, multi-cuisine restaurant, bar, and banquet halls.

Indeed, the Hotel Lindsay has recently again been renovated and its rooms are decorated in inviting warm tones. In reflection of this, its prices have also been raised. However, they're now at a somewhat exorbitant level for what is being provided. The rates do include buffet breakfast in the hotel's restaurant, but unless you like curry in the morning, your choice is limited.

Despite this, the Hotel Lindsay has one very redeeming feature in its favor, that being its location. In terms of centrality, it really can't be beat. Upon stepping out of the hotel lobby, guests will find themselves amidst the colors and flavors of Calcutta's vibrant Newmarket. Not far away is the buzzing tourist ghetto of Sudder Street, and just around the corner, the street stalls on Chowringhee Road. Upmarket Park Street is also only a short walk away.

Another attractive thing about the Hotel Lindsay is its open air terrace restaurant. Guests can dine under the stars and take in a captivating view of Kolkata in all its glory.

Really, the only thing detracting from this hotel is its price. It's quite difficult to justify.
