Staying at one of the hotels in Juhu Beach is the perfect solution for escaping the hustle and bustle of Mumbai. You'll feel secluded from the city at this soothing but upmarket suburban beach. Yet, an added bonus is that you'll be close to the airport. As with all hotels in Mumbai, Juhu hotels aren't cheap. And you do have to pay if you want beachfront. These top 5 Juhu hotels are the pick of the bunch for a relaxing beachside vacation.
(Here's a tip: if you're going to be in Mumbai for the Ganesh Chaturthi festival, you'll be in the heart of the action on Juhu Beach).
1. J W Marriott
Thinking of splurging? You can't pass up the J W Marriott. Not only is it one of the best luxury hotels in Mumbai, it's centrally located in the Juhu Tara Road shopping area, has one of Mumbai's top luxury spas, and serves one of the most delectable all you can eat Sunday brunches in Mumbai. The hotel's nightclub, Enigma, is also popular. Oh, there's a huge oceanfront swimming pool and garden with direct beach access too. Double rooms start from around $300 per night, including tax. An ocean suite is $700 per night.
2. Juhu Residency
The Juhu Residency is a fabulous little boutique hotel with only 18 rooms. Although the hotel has been in existence for two decades, it's recently had a very attractive makeover. Added to the hotel's appeal are two tasty restaurants (don't miss the very reasonably priced Sunday seafood buffet brunch), including a rooftop bar and grill. The only drawback is that the hotel isn't located directly on Juhu Beach. It's situated on the other side of Juhu Tara Road, opposite the J W Marriott. However, it's a great deal for those who don't have a five star budget. Expect to pay around $120 for a double premium room (perfect for leisure travelers) and $180 for a executive room (for business travelers), per night.
3. Novotel Juhu Beach
The Novotel is a relatively new beachfront hotel located at the quieter northern end of Juhu Beach. It opened in 2009 after a complete renovation (it used to be the old Holiday Inn) and has fast become a fashionable place to stay. The hotel offers 203 rooms and suites, with city or ocean views. It's also jumped on the Sunday brunch bandwagon, and offers an enticing poolside Sunday brunch with an eclectic range of food from all of its restaurants. If you're not staying at the hotel, you can use the pool for an additional cost during the brunch. Double rooms are available from around $200 per night, including tax.
4. Sun N Sand
The well known Sun N Sand hotel is also located at the quieter northern end of Juhu Beach, right next to the Novotel. However, with 120 rooms, it's smaller than the Novotel. The hotel's excellent service and friendly staff have made it a long term favorite with visitors. It also has a value for money indoor Sunday brunch. Rooms start from around $180 per night, including tax. Rates are a bit cheaper than the other luxury beachfront hotels because the Sun N Sand is older, and the rooms lack modern amenities and contemporary decor. The hotel has been very well maintained though. You can get a beach facing room for very little extra, and it's well worth it!
5. Sea Princess
The Sea Princess is situated amongst shops at the southern end of Juhu Beach. It's a boutique hotel with around 100 rooms, and most of them have been renovated. Why would you choose the Sea Princess over other similarly priced hotels on Juhu Beach? If you're nightlife oriented, it houses the hip and exclusive new lounge bar called Trilogy. The hotel is also close to Aurus, and Vie Deck and Lounge. For something different, it offers Kerala Ayurvedic treatments as well. And there's a poolside Sunday brunch. Double rooms start from around $200 per night, including tax.
