Want to travel by auto rickshaw in Delhi? This quick guide to auto rickshaws in Delhi will help make it easier for you (and ensure you don't get ripped off)!
- Delhi has plenty of auto rickshaws but it's extremely difficult to get any of them to put their meters on. The drivers will quote you a fare for your journey, so it's important to have an idea of the correct fares before you travel to avoid getting ripped off (which you certainly will otherwise!).
- The rate is 19 rupees for first 2 kilometers and 6.50 rupees for each additional kilometer. You'll be charged 25% extra at night from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. Waiting charges are 30 rupees per hour. There's also a luggage charge of 7.50 rupees for extra luggage (large bags).
- Here's a useful auto rickshaw fare calculator.
- As an estimate, you really shouldn't pay much more than 100 rupees to travel anywhere in Delhi.
