Retailing in India has undergone a dramatic transformation since the early 2000s and the shopping malls in Mumbai are amongst the best in the country. As well as this, Mumbai has huge hypermarkets, such as Hypercity at InOrbit Mall in Malad, where the choice of goods all under one roof is mind boggling. And then, there's the organized chaos of the discount department store known as the Big Bazaar.

Shopping in India has never been easier or more convenient, and for the people who can afford it, shopping malls are the place to hang out. In Mumbai, people head to the malls to check out the latest fashion, eat, relax, be entertained, and have fun -- as well as shop.

Most malls are open seven days a week from around 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. The busiest day is Sunday, when there's hardly room to move.
