With a week remaining until the Holi festival in India, you might be wondering where and how to celebrate. If you're in Mumbai and haven't made any plans yet, check out these Holi parties that will be happening at various locations across the city.
- Holi Party and Dharavi Tour: Do something different his Holi, and visit Dharavi slum and celebrate with the community. Reality Tours is running this special trip on March 16 (the day before Holi) from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. You'll go on their signature Dharavi tour first, then be taken to the girls' football field where you'll be provided with natural colors and joined by people from Dharavi, children from Reality Tours' various community programs, and also their staff. You'll get to play Holi there, accompanied by non-stop music. Cost: 1,300 rupees per person.
- Holi Color Blasts 2014: The location of this renowned party, right on Juhu Beach, is fabulous. Expect colors, bhaang, rain dances, and celebrities. DJ Paroma (voted India's #1 female DJ) will play Bollywood music, DJ Dash (resident DJ at Trilogy) will play EDM, and singer-composer-rapper-songwriter-DJ Ramji Gulati will perform live. There will be live dhol as well. The party will be spread across two sessions: Holi Color blasts from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Evening Color Blasts from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Cost: Tickets start from 1,200 rupees. - Holi Reloaded 2014: Don't want to go to a party with commercial music? Then this party (which is more like a music festival) is for you. Back for the second year this year, enjoy electronic music all day with an international and Indian DJ lineup. Organic colors will be provided inside the venue. Cost: Entry tickets are 1,250 rupees each. Location: JVPD Grounds, Juhu. Tickets will be available online from Bookmyshow.com soon.
- Junglee Hoon...Holi Hai 2014: This is one for the family! Essel World and Water Kingdom, two of the best amusement parks in India, will be holding a huge three day Holi celebration from March 15-17, 2014. It's all about water and not color (colors aren't allowed or provided, and water is constantly recycled). Rain dance to the tunes of Bollywood DJs and enjoy special fresh sweet counters. The grand finale will feature India's leading female DJ, DJ Rink, and Zee TV's DID L'il Masters "India's Best Child Dancing Sensation". Cost: combined entry to both parks is 1,190 rupees for adults and 790 rupees for kids. Location: Gorai Island (northern Mumbai).
