The 2012 Navaratri festival, held in honor of the Mother Goddess, is exactly a month away. Time will no doubt fly!
One of the best places to experience the festival is the state of Gujarat, where people dance the night away with spectacular garba and dandiya dance shows. The costumes are simply magnificant. Vadodara (Baroda), often referred to the cultural capital of Gujarat, has the best garba venues.
If you're thinking about heading to Gujarat in a group to catch the action, you might want to consider the tour packages offered by Gujarat Tourism. Three night/four day tours cost 20,420 rupees per person, including transport, accommodation, guide fees and entrance fees, and daily fixed breakfast and dinner. Shorter one night/two day tour packages are also offered, starting from 1,610 rupees per person.
