When it comes to tourism promotion in India, Madhya Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (MPTDC) consistently wins awards for its excellence and innovation. One of the Corporation's most recent awards was for best tourist publicity literature.
Well deserving of this award, the Corporation has launched three more guide books on attractions in the state -- Unknown Attractions Around the Known Destinations, Rock Art of Madhya Pradesh, and Temples of Madhya Pradesh.
Unknown Attractions Around the Known Destinations is a comprehensive, free, 52 page guide that's available on the MPTDC website. You'll find that due to the archeological richness of Madhya Pradesh, there are places worth visiting near almost every major destination. These include:
- Mitawali and Padhawali near Gwalior.
- Raneh and Pandav Falls near Khajuraho.
- Ginnorgarh Fort and Manua Bhan ki Tekri near Bhopal.
The guide also includes unknown places in Datia, Sheopur, Chhattarpur, Morena, Raisen and Mandsaur. So many magnificant forts and palaces are just waiting to be discovered all over the state, and the guide will definitely inspire you to visit them!
The latter two guide books were researched and published by Goodearth Guides, and cost 210 rupees each to purchase.
More About Madhya Pradesh:

MP is my favorite state to travel within India. Not too pushy, yet with all its richness and diversity.
I was in Madhya Pradesh a couple of months ago. I was fascinated with the rock paintings at Bheembetika and the unfinished Shiva temple. Madhya Pradesh is such a lovely place, unspoiled and yet very fascinating.
