I can't say that I've been to many luxury hotels with disco balls hanging above their reception desk, but that's exactly what the newly made-over Park Hotel in Kolkata has -- a row of seven shiny disco balls.
Party anyone?
When I lived in Kolkata around five years ago, I spent quite a bit of time at The Park Hotel (dare I say, I even met my future husband there. But that's another story). However, until the previous weekend, it had been around three years since I'd returned to the hotel. It's changed so much, I actually had trouble finding my way around. And if The Park Hotel dominated Kolkata's nightlife back then, it's completely taken over now.

Oh, and forget about the troublesome nightlife curfew. On Saturday night, Roxy rocked on until after 3 a.m. and we tumbled out of Tantra at 5 a.m. It seems Kolkata is still a city where people only come out to play at midnight.
