Stella restaurant.The Leela Kempinski, Mumbai.
If you're a fan of fine dining, keen to try different restaurants or simply like a good deal, do check out the inaugural Restaurant Week in Mumbai next week. It's on from September 6-12, 2010.
What's Restaurant Week all about? Inspired by the concept that started in 1992 in New York, selected swanky restaurants in Mumbai will be offering three course set menus for 1,000 rupees ($22) per person, plus tax, during the promotion. This is a fraction of what it would normally cost to dine at these places.
The seven restaurants participating in Restaurant Week are:
- Stella (Italian) at the Leela Kempinski
- Indigo (eclectic European-Asian) in Colaba
- Tote on the Turf (world cuisine) at Mahalaxmi Racecourse
- Botticino (Italian) at the Trident in the Bandra-Kurla Complex
- Koh (Thai) at the Intercontinent on Marine Drive
- India Jones (Oriental) at the Trident in Nariman Point
- San Qi (Oriental) at the Four Seasons in Worli
To book or find out more information, visit the Mumbai Restaurant Week website. Happy eating!
Where to Stay in Mumbai:

This is a very poorely structured program in Mumbai. The menu has smartly been chosen to fit the budget and you end up paying a price that may not be too different.
The menu is set and this could be to the guest’s surprise, San Qi for instance served the most regular Indian Meal in India .. so much for being an oriental restaurant.
The restaurants also seem to take no onus of customer service or the menu they have chosen.
It is just a way to cheat customers and a horrible experience.

Oh no, that’s really disappointing to hear, Deepak. I really appreciate you sharing this information. Apparently, Indigo is improving its menu for the weekend. Perhaps there were some unhappy customers.
By the way, there is a feedback form that you can fill out about your experience:
