Nepal is a popular side trip from India, and Kingfisher Airlines has just made it easy to get there. It recently started a new route, flying from Delhi to Kathmandu.

The new Kingfisher flight will give Jet Airways some competition, as Jet was previously the only Indian airline (apart from the inefficient Air India) to fly from India to Nepal.

The Kingfisher flight departs Delhi daily at 1.30 p.m. and arrives in Kathmandu at 3.25 p.m. On the return leg, it departs Kathmandu at 4.35 p.m. and arrives in Delhi at 6 p.m.  The one way fare, of around 5,900 rupees ($130), is comparable to that offered by Jet Airways. Air India is slightly more expensive.

If you can afford to fly to Nepal from India, definitely do it! The train and bus journey is not something I'd be keen to repeat.
