Domestic Terminal 1C opened at Mumbai Airport earlier this week. The terminal links domestic terminals 1A and 1B. But what does it mean for you, the passenger?
The most convenient benefit of the new terminal is that it eliminates the need for the very tedious bus ride from the airport terminal building to the aircraft boarding gate. You'll now be able to board domestic flights from the six aerobridges in Terminal 1C.
The terminal itself doesn't have any check-in facilities. Rather, it serves as a holding area for passengers. It's accessed after you've checked-in at either Terminal 1A or 1B, and proceeded through security.
A substantial part of the new Terminal 1C is allocated to retail outlets and airline lounges, including a food court on the third level. The terminal also offers a view of the runway from the waiting lounge, and is equipped with wireless Internet, Internet kiosks, and smoking rooms.
