Tourists who are citizens of Finland, Japan, Luxembourg, New Zealand or Singapore can now get visas on arrival in India.

Effective from Friday January 1, 2010, the Indian government is trialing a visa on arrival facility for one year at Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and Kolkata airports. Single entry tourist visas, valid for 30 days, are available at a cost of $60.

Citizens of the five countries listed above can get visas on arrival, irrespective of where they fly into India from. Such citizens can also apply for their Indian tourist visas through the normal channels.

Hi Bosco, there’s been no talk of stopping the arrangement, and India is very focused on increasing tourism so I expect it will continue on the way it is.
