If you're in Mumbai on a weekend and looking for something to do in the evening, why not take a night tour of some of the city's most famous historical attractions?
The Maharastra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) runs one hour open deck bus tours through south Mumbai on Saturday and Sunday evenings. The tours start at the Gateway of India and head along Marine Drive before passing Churchgate Railway Station and the Eros Theatre. They then return to the Gateway of India via the magnificant CST Railway Station building, D.N. Road, Hutatma Chowk, Homi Modi Street, Horniman Circle, and the Asiatic Library.
There are two tours each evening. The first one departs at 7 p.m., and the second at 8.15 p.m. The fare for the Upper Deck is 120 rupees ($2.50) per person, and 50 rupees ($1) per person for the enclosed Lower Deck. It's cheap and the kids will love it!
Tickets are available from the MTDC counter at the Gateway of India.
