If you're planning on heading to Goa this season, you might want to give staying at the Goa Marriott a miss. The hotel is being renovated.
The current, first phase of the renovations includes the lobby, banqueting, 54 rooms, and the pool deck. This is expected to be completed by the end of the year. Then, the construction will move on to incorporate the introduction of integrated kids rooms and Quan Spa. The hotel's restaurants will also receive a makeover. All the renovations are expected to be completed by the end of 2010.
Apparently, the hotel is aiming to attract both the family and wedding segments of the tourism market. I would've thought that these are quite mutually exclusive (a hotel full of kids isn't my idea of a romantic wedding destination in India!), so it will be interesting to see how it works out.
