Mumbai's Best Food & Nightlife 2008-09

Sunday night was a big night for those in the restaurant and entertainment industry in Mumbai. The Times of India held a gala bash to announce the winners of its Times Food & Nightlife Awards 2008-09. The fortunate few, who were presented with their awards by India's top Bollywood stars, included:

• Best Italian: Vetro at The Oberoi (south Mumbai), and Celini at the Grand Hyatt (north Mumbai).
• Best Indian: Kebabs & Curries at the ITC Grand Central (south Mumbai), and Dum Pukht at the ITC Grand Maratha (north Mumbai).
• Best Bar: Wink at the Taj President (south Mumbai), and China House at the Grand Hyatt (north Mumbai).
• Best Coffee Bar: Mocha.
• Best Restaurant-Bar: Indigo (south Mumbai), and Olive Bar & Kitchen (north Mumbai).
• Best Ambiance Restaurant-Bar : Shiro (south Mumbai), and Aurus (north Mumbai).
• Best Nightclub: Prive (south Mumbai), and Poison (north Mumbai).

So, when you're next in Mumbai and looking for somewhere outstanding to eat and drink, be sure to give these places a try! I've been to quite a few of them and all I can say is the awards are well deserved.
