Close up of a Ganesh statue.

Yesterday I went out exploring the area around where I live in Mumbai to have a look at some of statues of Lord Ganesh, on display for the Ganesh Chaturthi festival.
The statues were simply magnificent. I stood there in awe and amazement, marveling at how much work had gone into creating them. Stepping into the huge, billowing tented canopies that housed the statues was like stepping to another world -- one of complete calmness and serenity, but at the same time charged with energy.
I felt like I was getting a headache, as I always do from being stuck in chaotic traffic and the incessant honking of horns, but after just five minutes with Lord Ganesh I came away feeling so relaxed. I wish I could spend all day there! It was such a magical experience.
